The pocketed half apron sewing pattern is an introductory level into garment making. It is preferable to have some previous experience with using a sewing machine. The most difficult part is staying organized with the amount of pieces involved.
Choose your size based on your waist measurement. Aprons fit a wide range of sizes.
Measurements for size A based on ASTM D5585 Female Misses 00-18.
Measurements for size B based on ASTM D6960 Plus Women’s 14W-40W.
The apron is drafted to fall at the top of the knee on someone who is 5’5”. Simply shorten or lengthen the apron by equally adjusting the bottom hem of pattern pieces B, D, and E.
Pre-washed fabric with good drape and structure such as 7 oz mid-weight linen or organic cotton twill.
This pattern is for personal use only. If you would like to make and sell this apron, we would love to support you and your business! Contact us for commercial licensing pricing.

The Made by Women Patterns are part of an initiative to involve women with the process of garment making as a way to be mindful of our purchasing practices in the fashion industry. Behind every seam is a person, most likely a woman. Sewing a simple garment is a tactile way of understanding the effort that goes into the clothes we wear and our responsibility to respect the human and material output with each piece.
